A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced business development professional to apply their business development skills in a global management consultancy firm. Reporting to the Head of Financial Services, the BD Director will be based in London but will be required to be flexible with regards to travel within the UK.
This is a client facing role which will be critical to supporting the growth of key clients and prospects in the financial services sector and as such you will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of business development initiatives for specific key clients and managing client team engagement. Overseeing commercial relationships and service delivery, you will be tasked with ensuring customer satisfaction and managing business unit expansion and profitability. The BD Director will work directly with the consultants, to draft competitive proposals, credentials, pitches and presentations and manage competitive pitches, including advising on proposal tactics and drafting relevant, client-focused content and, sharing industry best practices for successful pitches, prepare and coach client teams. You must develop and evaluate processes and procedures, making recommendations for improvement and assist with opportunities for expanding client relationships, tracking business development strategies, plans and projects, including the tracking and follow-up of specific efforts. Team development and coaching will be an important part of the role, including the assembly and mobilisation of teams on new engagements and contributing to new employee selection.
The successful candidate will be a bright, commercially aware graduate with both proven consulting experience and strong BD experience in a consultancy environment. It is essential that applicants possess established relationships and credentials within Financial Services, specifically capital markets and regulatory bodies and can demonstrate successful experience shaping and leading complex projects, a track record assembling, managing, coaching and developing teams and a proven ability to lead sales meetings and shape solutions. An excellent ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at executive level will be pre-requisite.
