An excellent opportunity has arisen for a BD Manager to join a leading law firm to work in their Global Banking & Finance team.. The purpose of this position is to support the Global Banking & Finance practice in developing and implementing its global business development and marketing programs.

The Business Development Manager will work on the development and execution of business development plans, the creation of marketing messages and materials, and the coordination of activities to expand existing client relationships or acquire new clients for the practice group.

You will review, revise and improve the practice group's suite of marketing materials including capability statements, pitch templates, deals lists, website content and press release as well as develop key messages and talking points. You will also ensure that deals and experience are collected on a regular basis as well as assist in the review and improvement of the deal collection process and reporting of matters to league table organisations.

In order to raise the profile of the firm you will work with lawyers and marketing and BD staff around the world to market the services and expertise of the B&F practice group through thought leadership initiatives and other profile-raising activities, as well as manage Chambers Global and award submissions, ensuring they are promoted effectively both internally and externally. In order to increase B&F rankings you will work with regional marketing and BD teams to audit and improve submissions to league table organizations.

You will also work with the Global Client Managers to develop more Banking & Finance work for the firm. You will assist in improving client service by working with partners and business development staff to conduct post transaction reviews and obtain client feedback and will support the preparation of responses to clients' request for proposals or information.

It is essential that the BD Manager (Global Banking & Finance) actively develops and maintains a deep understanding of the banking and financial services market and the competitive position of the firm through extensive internal and external research and you will be responsible for monitoring, analysing and communicating market, industry and competitive trends for the practice group.

With strong academic background, it is essential that you have experience and knowledge of the Banking & Finance market. The BD Manager (Global Banking & Finance) should also have extensive experience in marketing or business development in the professional services industry, with a preference for international law firm experience. You should be comfortable working across multiple time zones and cultures and must be both flexible and willing to work the hours required to fulfil the responsibilities of a global role. Previous line management experience is desirable.
