A leading national law firm is looking for a talented Business Development Manager to join its vibrant and quickly growing London office. This is a dual facing role involving client-facing business development as well as the management of internal sales projects and processes and helping to embed a first class BD culture within the firm.
Reporting to the Business Development Director and acting as the driving force behind the implementation of the business development aspects of departmental strategy, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving growth through business development activities that create opportunities and initiatives for increasing new business. Liaising with key stakeholders, the Business Development Manager will identify and research target clients within existing and emerging sectors, prospecting for potential new clients and turning this into increased business. Advising key stakeholders of opportunities for new business or cross-selling, you will collaboratively develop opportunities that identify the new and existing clients' needs, concerns and objectives. You will be expected to monitor sales information including conversion rates, key targets, pipeline managements, budget and trend information. Building strong and supportive relationships at all levels with key customers, the role holder will present new products and services to enhance existing relationships and grow revenue, arranging and participating in internal and external client brands.
The successful candidate will be a confident and personable individual with a strong understanding of the UK Corporate, SME and Private Client business environment with demonstrable success in sales and BD in a professional services environment and a proven ability to drive and develop pipeline opportunities and of hitting deadlines and delivering targets. Commercially astute and entrepreneurial in approach, the Business Development Manager will require excellent project management and written and oral communication skills, including the ability to work with and influence senior partners, individuals and teams. Other prerequisites include the abilities to think creatively and to both manage and work well as a member of a team.
