A leading U.S. law firm requires a Business Development Manager to provide strategic and tactical support for the implementation of marketing and business development in the Project Development and Finance practice group. Although based in London, the work in this group is global in nature.
The role offers a balance of project ownership and autonomy with the opportunity to get involved in team initiatives in a dynamic and international environment with significant partner liaison. You will work collaboratively with colleagues across different offices and the successful applicant will be responsible for driving and implementing all activities relating to business development including client development, client presentations, research, internal communications, directories and league tables and ad hoc BD projects. Pitching is a significant part of this role and will entail writing pitches and working closely with partners and associates in order to manage the workload effectively. You will have line manager responsibility for two BD Executive and strong leadership and motivational skills are an essential requirement of the role.
The ideal candidate will be a well-educated, proactive team player, with excellent organisational, communication and I.T. skills allied with strong attention to detail. You must enjoy working with little supervision and under the pressure of deadlines whilst juggling multiple projects, priorities. Previous professional services experience in this area or practice group or in a heavy pitch practice area within a law firm is essential.
