Cambridge Education Group is seeking to appoint a Brand and Content Journalist who will create content for CSVPA, from the promotional written form to visual formats, and will create brand visibility through its dissemination across a variety of media and social platforms. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, CSVPA, they will work closely with the Head of School and college team, capturing in-college activity to create dynamic, intriguing content that will build the school’s profile at a local, national and international level. The post holder will also provide support to the Head of Marketing, CSVPA, particularly in the production and management of marketing collateral.

Key Responsibilities

 

Brand content creation

  • To create content for CSVPA, from the promotional written form to visual formats: content which is appropriately targeted to intrigue, motivate and interest the college’s diverse range of audiences – from students and their parents and agents to the creative industries; education specialists and press to local and national media.

  • To form strong relations with staff teams at CSVPA to ensure in-college activities are captured, in words, photos and videos, for use across all marketing channels.

  • To give particular focus to the creation of content to drive press (local and national) coverage and thereby grow brand awareness.

  • To build strong relationships with local and appropriate national media.

 

Content marketing

  • To create brand visibility through the dissemination of content across a variety of different media and social platforms.

  • To maintain the brand website, update programme changes, launch new products and publish news articles.

  • To grow a large number of followers in the school’s social media accounts by devising and implementing appropriate strategies.

  • To work with the college to create a twice-termly newsletter, intended particularly to engage, parents, agents and prospective students.

 

Production and management of marketing materials

  • To support the CSVPA Head of Marketing in the production of all marketing materials and to ensure that the annual cycle of marketing collateral and activities is delivered.

  • To work closely with the CSVPA sales team to support their recruitment efforts.

  • To manage the stock of marketing collateral and co-ordinate the process for delivery of new materials from the printer to the distribution company.

  • To update and manage sharefile, ISSU, the Agent Portal and Online Marketing Ordering system to ensure the latest materials are available for our sales team and agents to access.

  • Working closely with the UCAS Officer, to create and produce material to support the global and regionalised results and destinations.

  • To work with the Head of School or her delegate to improve the look and feel of the college and its buildings through the use of relevant images

  • To manage and co-ordinate all pre-arrival information and student handbooks for each course

 

Person Specification

 

The post holder will be creative and self-motivated, with an eye for a great story and the drive and determination to maximise the value of every piece of content they create. Although previous experience in industry creating brand content would be a distinct advantage, the position would equally suit a recent journalism graduate with a hunger to learn. Additionally, the successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience, skills and attributes:

  • A demonstrable track record of success in developing a strong online and social media presence, whether commercially or personally.

  • First-class verbal and written communication skills, with an understanding of how to pitch stories and a sense of the ‘sell’

  • A flair for visual communication and a strong eye for design, image and video. Proficiency in using InDesign and other software packages for design work desirable.

  • An existing network of media contacts would be a distinct advantage; a willingness and ability to develop such a network is essential.

  • Excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to communicate and inspire confidence in staff and a wide range of media contacts.

  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple work streams to strict deadlines.

  • Strong team-working skills and the ability to contribute effectively at all levels across CSVPA and Cambridge Education Group.
