Brand Manager - Interim

 Fantastic, varied and fun opportunity for a Brand Manager to join a leading toy business based in the Home Counties. This is an interim opportunity for 6-9 months to help during a particularly busy period due to rapid growth, so there may be potential for a longer term opportunity.

We’re looking for someone with a positive, energetic and can-do approach to take ownership of a portfolio of leading toy brands, working closely with the Marketing Director and other team members. You’ll get involved in a huge range of day to day and project activities, including:

  • Managing your own brand portfolio independently
  • Working with the Marketing Director to manage your P&L
  • Managing your own budgets
  • Working with the sales and planning teams to forecast business
  • Working closely with the sales team to present to and plan activity with major retailers – e.g. Argos, Smyths, Toys’R’us, Tesco, Sainsbury’s and the Entertainer
  • Build ATL marketing plans and work with UK based media agency and UK based creative agency to plan and edit TV campaigns/commercials
  • Work with Trade Marketing to ensure that brands have strong representation in-store (visual merchandising), in retail catalogues and increasingly in an e-com environment
  • Maintaining strong links with US and Canadian based global brand teams
  • Maintaining strong links with marketing groups across Europe

 

Skills checklist:

  • Experience at Brand Manager level
  • Experience of managing your own brands in a fast paced environment
  • Experience marketing to kids is preferable, but not essential – we would be looking for evidence that your experience is immediately transferable
  • Comfortable in a hands on environment – everyone mucks in when needed!
  • Comfortable presenting to larger groups – internally and to retailers
  • Media planning experience – able to hit the ground running
  • Experience of working with outside agencies – advertising, PR, etc.
  • Motivation, drive and initiative – able to work independently
  • in Canada in Aug (but that depends in this case as it’s fixed term)
