Business Analyst - Marketing/Data Operations

Haymarket Media Group are the largest independent, specialist, international, global media company producing a host of market leading consumer and business to business magazines, websites and events. Our marketing operations department provide technology, campaign management and reporting to support marketing teams across the business. This position will work closely with internal stakeholders and technical systems teams across the organisation, and externally, to ensure that business rules, requirements and decisions for new strategic and operational initiatives are identified, analyzed, documented.

Ideal for a data-oriented Business Analyst, highly skilled in understanding the needs of a data driven business, mapping processes and defining requirements for technology enabled change.

Responsibilities
• Assist with project scoping, helping define goals, risks and constraints, working with the Marketing Database Manager to ensure all solution options are properly assessed and estimated (cost and timescale).
• Develop project plans to assist with the management of data and systems implementation projects.
• Facilitate process workshops to document existing (and elicit requirements for new) business processes, information flows and user experiences.
• Define and document appropriate business and functional requirements and systems/data specifications.
• Engage with external systems suppliers and internal development teams to identify, evaluate and recommend solutions.
• Design test plans and manage user acceptance testing and assist with post implementation support as required.
• Use knowledge and experience to improve project management and business analysis processes
• Produce weekly/monthly reports for the business showing project progress, issues, risks and dependencies
• Lead sign-off processes

Person specification
• Demonstrable BA experience in a similar role
• Experience gathering requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirement workshops, surveys, use cases, scenarios and workflow analysis
• Some previous experience of Project Management
• Working experience of business process modelling and an understanding of UML is an advantage.
• An analytic mind and great attention to detail.
• Self motivated with the ability to proactively drive projects and work with the minimum of supervision.
• Approachable and personable and able to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
• Work well under pressure
• Self-confident, flexible, mature and strategic outlook.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Excellent general technical ability
• Knowledge of advanced MS Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP and VBA)
• Understanding of relational databases and marketing technologies.
• Previous experience of SQL driven analytics and dashboard tools or marketing automation platforms desirable, but not essential

This is a fixed-term, contract role lasting around 9 months
