A large international law firm is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to support the firm's award-winning London-based Antitrust team. The firm has business development teams embedded in, and dedicated to supporting, the global practice and sectors groups and this role supports the Competition group within the London Corporate practice.

The role holder will be a primary contact for the day-to-day business development support for Competition partners based in London and will form part of a core team focused on supporting the BD efforts of the firm's Corporate practice. Key business development responsibilities will include working with BD colleagues and fee-earners on pitch opportunities, working with partners on their client development plans and other ad-hoc business development support as required. You will also providing practical marketing support for profile-raising activities, such as drafting submissions to legal directories, organising appropriate client events and working with colleagues to develop a strong external profile for the product area. This role involves cross-border contact and liaison, working closely with the Global BD Manager for Competition, who is based in Brussels, and who will provide day-to-day support and guidance and the Business Development Manager will play a key role in supporting this strategically important practice for the firm.

A successful candidate will have an excellent academic record and have significant business development experience gained in a large matrix-driven professional services firm. The individual must also have a high attention to detail and have experience managing and developing careers of junior staff. It is important to have the ability to motivate, develop and inspire both team and fee-earners to deliver business goals.
