A large international law firm is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to support the firm's Global Markets function.
The role requires both a strategic perspective and a "hands-on" approach to marketing and BD. The role holder will lead on the day-to-day business development support for Canada, the Nordics and Israel. The BD Manager will work closely with the dedicated 'country head' partners to promote and reinforce the firm's efforts in those countries where the firm does not have an office. Key responsibilities include working with partners on their strategic business development plans; client development plans; management of the relationships with the local counsel firms; assisting on pitches and contributing product and market insight into cross-practice and cross-border pitches; coordinating practical marketing support for profile raising activities; supporting partners in preparation for client visits; managing the process of experience collection, credentials and CVs; and other ad-hoc business development support.
A successful candidate will have an excellent academic record and have significant business development experience gained in a large professional services firm. The BD Manager must also have a high attention to detail and have experience managing and developing careers of junior staff. It is important to have the ability to motivate, develop and inspire both team and fee-earners to deliver business goals. Being adept at achieving results through collaboration and influence will be essential to success.
