An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Development Manager to join an independent law firm with an international footprint. You will set the agenda for your group, taking the lead on pushing projects through to successful completion and developing a successful and happy team around you.
Acting as a strategic partner to your group, you will be responsible for providing and driving high value advice and initiatives, whilst contributing to the firm's overall business development strategy. This role will principally support the Dispute Resolution Department and you will guide your core team to find connections with the wider firm that empower business development at all levels. You will have day to day contact with a variety of key stakeholders, including Senior Partners and fee earners, and you will need to win their trust in order to make credible BD proposals. You will manage your team's resources effectively and will work with them to maintain focus on the areas that will create the most impact.
The Business Development Manager's will identify and develop practice specific products and services that can be used to position the practices competitively; ensure that all members of the department are aware of key issues and trends in the law; develop the firm's profile through PR, editorial, thought leadership, market research, select conferences, newsletters and seminars; create marketing collateral that furthers the firm's reputation; produce high quality pitch documents and credential statements; support the BD Executives in the preparation of directory submissions; help develop metrics that measure the effectiveness of all activities; and deliver plans within budget and to agreed timings.
The ideal candidate will be a bright graduate with previous professional services experience which should include roles with a client development focus and both experience in pitch and proposal preparation and appropriate coaching to those delivering pitches. Strategic and creative with strong commercial nous, the Business Development Manager (Litigation) must be a flexible, team player and possess an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with energy, enthusiasm and drive.
