Strong analytical skills and commercial savvy are what is needed for this exciting opportunity with a global powerhouse FMCG business with much-loved brands used daily in millions of households across the UK.  If you are looking for that chance to make a step change in your career, this could well be the role you have been waiting for.  Working with key retail partners, you will use your analytical and creative skills to develop and deliver effective, well-targeted category initiatives (POS, promotional activations, range planning) aligned to a clear category vision that you will be involved in shaping in conjunction with the sales and brand marketing teams. 

The business is located c.15 minutes from the M25 and an easy commute from London by train.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing effective category selling stories, tailored by customer to support new category growth initiatives
  • Developing and agreeing activation plans for key initiatives including merchandising and promotional  recommendations
  • Monitoring and evaluating changes in category, customer and competitor activities and recommending actions to address issues and opportunities affecting the category/brands
  • Using continuous market and consumer data (including Nielsen and Kantar) to gain consumer insight and shopper insights
Skills & Experience Checklist

To meet the challenges of this role (and hit the ground running!), you will ideally have gained a solid base of experience in a leading FMCG, packaged goods or retail company or in a major insight/data agency working with FMCG clients.  Strong analytical skills are of course key, with the ability to work with numbers, spotting trends and flagging issues and opportunities.  Other skills include:
  • Previous experience of building relationships and presenting recommendations in an influential and persuasive manner
  • Experience of working in a pro-active, highly collaborative environment
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to present your ideas and recommendations internally and externally
  • Experience working within UK FMCG market would be an advantage
