As an Communications Coordinator this is an exciting and diverse position working in a defence organisation, based in central London. You will have the opportunity to be involved in working in a defence organisation This is paying £23,704 plus excellent benefits.
Main Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation of all business meetings and events in the Conference Room or in external commercial venues (ie assistance with booking of venues, layout of the conference room, preparation of refreshments and lunches as required).
  • Maintenance of SharePoint of website, including management of permissions, folders, archiving and weeding as required.
  • To be front of house handling all communications via telephone and email and seeking stakeholders authorisation when required on appropriate communications message.
  • Provide communications support to meetings including taking minutes and ensuring distribution in a timely manner.
  • Setting up of conference calls, including ELO routine calls, and VTC when required.
  • To attend evening and weekend events as required
  • Strong communications background on being organised and working with SharePoint. Occasionally following up orders with suppliers and downloading automatic financial reports and communicating to wider stakeholders.

Required skills/experience:

  • Strong organisation skills with methodical approach with proven track record of working in a large team
  • A pleasant office manner with a high degree of flexibility and adaptability, good at working in a team. An excellent telephone manner and good communication skills written and verbal.
  • Computer literate (posessing a good working knowledge of MS-Office 2010 applications) or knowledge/experience equivalent to European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) qualification. It is important that the post holder possesses a good typing ability, is conversant with MS-Outlook, MS-Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong understanding of both military and corporate cultures is desirable
  • Flexible and responsive to tasking and direction, with a high level of commitment to succeed.
  • Strong team player, comfortable in a changing environment.
  • Approachable and friendly – 'customer oriented' and professional.
