Communications Officer (Full Time, 37 hours per week), Letchworth -
North Hertfordshire District Council serves 125,000 residents in 55,000 households across a diverse and interesting district, providing a wide range of services including waste and recycling, leisure facilities, parks and open spaces, benefit administration, planning, housing advice, and many others.
Our residents expect value for money from their council tax payments, so it is vital that we communicate about the services we provide - our performance and our progress on delivering key projects. This is where you come in.
As part of our small communications team you will be responsible for:
*Drafting press releases and liaising with our local media
*Helping to compile publications such as our residents' magazine
*Helping manage our social media presence
*Producing regular internal communications
To do this successfully you will have at least two years press office or related experience and be:
*An excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing
*Assertive and confident when dealing with senior colleagues and outside parties
*Confident with IT systems and social media
*A team player
