Compliance Officer (Marketing & Fundraising)
An exciting opportunity for a fundraising and marketing compliance officer,
Our client is a registered charity dedicated to the provision of hospice care for life limited children and their families from the South West. They provide care at their hospices Little Bridge House in North Devon, Charlton Farm in North Somerset and Little Harbour in Mid Cornwall.
Position: Marketing & Fundraising Compliance Officer
Location: Fremington, Barnstaple
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Fixed Term Contract, 18 months
Salary: £30,140 to £34,719 per annum

About the role:
This is a unique opportunity to develop a robust set of policies and processes to ensure compliance with the Code of Practice from the Fundraising Regulator, Charity Commission, ICO and GDPR and ensuring their successful implementation.
The post holder will be expected to: develop a Marketing and Fundraising compliance plan with prioritised actions; manage the day to day monitoring of the fundraising code of practice and legislation proposals and changes within the industry; update all relevant staff, including the Database, Fundraising, Lottery and Marketing teams on best practice and inform them of any changes to the legislation; devise and support implementation plans; deliver relevant compliance training across all internal teams as and when required; engage with Charity and Compliance networks to ensure they maintain a high level of awareness and information on new legislation or changes that might affect the charity and cascade to all relevant staff.
They are looking for someone who is educated to degree level or equivalent experience, with excellent communication and presentation skills, the ability to influence employees at all levels and from all disciplines within the organisation; relevant experience in a similar role within fundraising/marketing; proven understanding and experience of fundraising industry compliance and best practice, including lotteries; experience of undertaking audits and ensuring that resulting actions are implemented within agreed timescales and a clear understanding of Data Protection Act and GDPR.
