Customer & Category Marketing Executive
£32K-£40K + Car Allowance + Bonus

Bring your strong category skills and insight to this challenging role with one of the UK’s leading global FMCG players offering day-to-day responsibility for driving sales and profit across a number of product categories with major grocery customer. Working closely with commercial teams, you’ll build a close relationship with customers – implementing category growth strategies and developing compelling recommendations for the optimum product range, pricing, merchandising and promotional approach. Familiar with insight data, you’ll translate consumer and customer understanding into category insights and strategies, continually seeking opportunities to implement in-store activity aimed at strengthening our client’s position in the category.
Key Accountabilities include
Managing category management initiatives to ensure the company is delivering against retailer initiatives in line with business objectives
Being closely involved in the range review process end to end, including presence at merchandising centres when required
• Understanding relevant category growth drivers within the retail accounts with quantifiable revenue opportunities and how 4P tactics including promotions and pricing initiatives, will deliver growth
• Building strong partnerships with key stakeholders, internally & externally, taking account of touch points across various functions
• Translating & analysing data to recommend in store actions aimed at strengthening the category
Our Ideal Candidate
Strong commercial skills with experience in customer or category marketing and possibly sales are key for this role. You will have a track record of working with grocery or other major customers and will demonstrate excellent communications and influencing skills with the ability to sell proposals to buyers. A knowledge of the retail market and strong analytical skills are taken as read, ideally including an understanding of continuous retail/market and consumer panel data (IRI, Nielsen, Kantar) and ideally space management software too. You will have a passion for achievement with an unswerving desire to make things happen quickly.
