Digital Marketing Manager – Sport
£50k-£55k + bonus
Home Counties location. Ref No: TL884513
We seek an exceptional digital marketer with a demonstrable track record in digital strategy and delivery. You will currently be working on a leading consumer brand, where you will have been trained to an exceptionally high level ideally in a multi-site retail business, but you now want to make a move into the world of sport, in particular, football.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, this Digital Marketing Manager opportunity is a newly created position requiring the expertise to develop, implement and analyse fully integrated strategy and plans for acquisition, UX, conversion, marketing automation, CRM and integrated media. Strategy will be applied across all relevant digital channels and devices.

Marketing strategy is the heartbeat of this business and the digital age requires a serious digital capability and culture. We want a consumer centric manager to develop our client's digital competence and ruthlessly drive acquisition, UX, conversion, data management, marketing automation and player community monetisation by implementing the most effective technical solutions and media choices. Furthermore, have the presence and ambition to drive change within an organisation.

Company background

Our client is an established football operations brand, a boutique football operator, particularly in small sided 5, 6 and 7-a-side. Fully accredited by the FA, partners and customers include The FA, The EFL, The Premier League, numerous professional and amateur football clubs, County FA's, coaching organisations, education-based companies and millions of social football visitors each year. Football participation is at an all-time high with 11m UK players. This is set to grow, especially through the recreational small sided game. Products and services offered are wide and varied to meet the needs of a highly fragmented and discerning customer, all with the common objective of delivering a great football experience.

Skills and background required

  • A broad scope of digital expertise across social media, email marketing, owned websites and analytics, while being an SEO expert.
  • Strategic in approach but able to implement with rigour.
  • A sound understanding of the technical foundations and being able to communicate them in a digestible and understandable manner.
  • Ability to operate at pace and with real purpose; bags of energy, drive, capacity and an outstanding ability to multi task.
  • A considered and analytical marketer with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to understanding what makes a difference and embracing it.
  • A collaborative, "can do" attitude, providing solutions to any problems.
  • Required skills to operate within a disciplined and strategic framework but with the freedom to express yourself and be autonomous.
  • An understanding of football, its emotions, its opinions and its language. You will have probably got this from playing social or competitive football or having a team you follow and support.
