Exceptional marketing leadership opportunity in a dynamic, entrepreneurial business

Super opportunity for truly entrepreneurial brand builder with commercial savvy, a spirit of adventure and at least some OTC brand experience, to take on this challenging new role driving rapid growth across Europe for a highly successful, fast-growing US owned OTC business with a portfolio of brands worth almost $1 billion in net revenue, the vast majority of this generated in the US.

Working alongside a newly appointed regional GM for Europe, you will lead the development of a new marketing strategy to build the current brand portfolio, a number of which are already in healthy retail distribution, and step change the business with compelling A&P initiatives and the roll-out of new brands from the US portfolio.  The European region operates with considerable autonomy, with freedom to create region focused marketing and innovation plans.  $100m is the target number!

Initially supported by a Brand Manager, the opportunity to build your team as the business expands is a definite.  Strong business cases will also be supported with funding for A&P initiatives.  This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who can turn their hand to whatever needs to be sorted, but key responsibilities include:

  • Key Development of short and long range marketing strategy, for the UK and European brands.
  • Execution of annual marketing plans to achieve growth targets.
  • Accountability for the development and leadership of local/regional projects.
  • Management of marketing budgets and effective deployment of resources.
  • Management and development of one brand manager and the marketing team ethos.

To meet the challenges of this role, you’ll have a strong track record of driving tangible brand growth via effective consumer, shopper & trade activity and brand innovation/renovation in a leading OTC or FMCG environment.  Due to the nature of working in a small, autonomous UK office, this role would suit someone to whom accountability and pride in leading a transformational role is key: this is a role for someone who is prepared to make big decisions with relatively little supervision and is comfortable with their marketing skills and ability.  Aside from your marketing flair, we are looking for someone who is passionate about their work, ale to multi-task to achieve stretching targets and is looking for a role offering autonomy, fun, work-life balance and the chance to make a real impact on a business.
