As the Head of Data & Analytics for a major technology infrastructure business, you will be leading a team made up of senior analytics managers and junior analysts in support of the delivery of operational analytics, visualisation and reporting services to the business.
This is a B2B based position, the company provides services to other telecoms and technology businesses across the UK. They're only of the largest players in this market by a long way, with a similarly large-scale workforce.
The business is embarking of a programme of investment into their data and analytics divisions, looking to hire at all levels as they look to raise the profile of data within the business. This is where you come in…
As a divisional leader, you will be responsible for setting out the strategy for your team, looking for them to build partnerships with the wider business and create and insight engine which supports and partners with other business units outside of the core data and analytics teams.
The data environment is principally based an Oracle SQL set up, and although this is a leadership position, you need to know enough to be able to coach and mentor your team successfully.
Your principal focus when joining will be to evaluate what's there now vs where they want to be. Establishing the ad-hoc analysis, reporting and visualisation needs of the various business stakeholders and teams, then setting about tackling that through your team.
Longer term, you will be looking at how to bring in more strategic analytics pieces like modelling and predictive analytics capabilities. The timeline for this will be dictated by you, and just how quickly you can get your division and team up to speed and ready to integrate this piece.
This is a really exciting opportunity for someone who's driven, motivated and keen to go into a business which is by far the finished article with how they leverage their data for business and commercial gain, and can put the right things in place to achieve this.
