Anglia Ruskin is a vibrant workplace and our University is gaining prominence both nationally and internationally. We have ambitious plans for the future and we are determined that our students and staff will realise their full potential. Our main campuses in the cities of Cambridge, Chelmsford and Peterborough have been transformed with major capital investment. With an annual turnover of over £200m, we are a major force for higher education and one of the largest universities in the East of England.

A remarkable opportunity for an experienced fundraising professional has arisen within our Corporate Marketing team. As Head of Development (Fundraising) you'll work to secure philanthropic income by leading a small, effective team to achieve the university's fundraising goals and to plan and deliver a range of fundraising programmes. This is a key position that will be required to provide the vision and skills to manage the fundraising elements of a number of key projects across the organisation.

The Head of Development is an exciting and challenging role, with accountability for key areas of fundraising across individual giving, major donors and bequests, and other areas including grant proposals. The role will implement the organisation’s new five year philanthropic strategy to meet ambitious targets working closely with colleagues across the organisation. You'll also build relationships with donors by ensuring we create mutually satisfying transactions. You'll drive a new and innovative approach to fundraising with a focus on enhancing the institutions digital donor experience, and look for new opportunities to deliver on donor acquisition and engagement.

With a higher degree or relevant professional qualification at postgraduate level (chartered where appropriate), you'll have a proven track record of growing fundraising revenue. You'll have experience of effectively leading a development/fundraising team and of planning and implementing fundraising strategies. You'll have project management experience and of planning and attending networking events. You'll have managed budgets, conducted prospect research and written effective proposals, as well as experience of face-to-face fundraising. Excellent networking, management, interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

Travel to our University sites and elsewhere to attend networking events and donor meetings will be required.

We offer an extensive range of benefits including a generous holiday entitlement, occupational pension schemes, training and development opportunities, travel to work scheme and a competitive relocation package.
