Working on behalf of a major services supplier to the UK public sector, the purpose of this role is to develop, maintain and champion the organisations strategic positioning in the market to achieve sustainable competitive advantage.
Objectives include to deliver financial and performance targets for the schools and colleges sector, analyse market needs and develop sustainable, profitable suites of products and services to increase market share, manage relationships with schools to maximise margins through cost effective sales and marketing processes and plan and execute branding, marketing and communication activities and processes to ensure maximum income from schools.
In order to qualify for this role, you should be able to demonstrate experience of managing a budget of £1m minimum, significant leadership experience of a sales and marketing function, experience of leading customer led new product development programmes for consultancy or services businesses, experience of sustaining long-term effective partnerships with customers and suppliers, success in market making and driving business growth in the public sector or highly regulated market sectors, experience of leading multi-disciplinary autonomous teams and self starting individuals and have a good knowledge and understanding of financial management and funding sources and understanding of corporate governance. Experience of market making and driving business growth in the public sector is essential, experience of the education sector in particular is preferred.
