Insights Marketing Manager

Role Purpose:
To work with the relevant business areas to drive actionable customer/member insight that enables the development of relevant, targeted propositions, effective marketing campaigns/activity and good quality business decision making.

With our member environments changing, the Group needs to adapt with new and better member solutions to ensure we achieve our business plans, and our objective of improving the lives of our members. You will use your understanding of our affinities, gained from data, the wider business and customer/member research, to advise business areas on areas of opportunity and areas for improvement.

Key responsibilities:
  • To analyse data in order to establish customer/member behaviour and trends to inform business wide projects, marketing activity and business improvements
  • To drive development and improvements in the way customer/member behavior is evaluated, and the insight off the back of it is used around the business
  • To support Senior Marketing Manager - Insights, Analytics and CRM to develop and embed an approach to segmentation for the Group
  • To work closely with the Insight and Analytics Senior Marketing Manager on data quality and data acquisition - constantly looking to improve data quality and completeness of data to drive more efficient campaigns
  • To establish and deliver regular reporting on customer/member behaviour/trends for the Group
  • To be responsible for the annual Brand Tracking survey across both affinities in terms of 3rd party management, setup, implementation, reporting and ongoing evaluation and development
  • To use knowledge of customer/member behavior and influencing factors in order to have input into the building of data models to predict future behavior
  • To develop a strong understanding of the Group proposition, products and processes
  • To understand the key patterns in customer life cycles, including acquisition, retention and life time value
  • To work with key stakeholders on insight requirements for specific projects/pieces of work and defining solution
  • To work with research agencies as required on quantitative and qualitative research projects
  • To work with Sales and Marketing teams on process for driving and capturing insight to enable understanding of the affinities and ensuring the insight can be used within the relevant business areas
  • To create and deliver ad-hoc reports based on the needs of a range of stakeholders
Skills and experience required:
  • Excellent data analyst with experience working in a marketing environment
  • Experience of working with, briefing, engaging and evaluating research agencies and other 3rd party providers
  • Experienced and effective in managing senior stakeholders across a business
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with a positive influencing style
  • Be able to cope with managing multiple projects/campaigns in a fast moving environment with varying workloads and pressures
  • Good organisation skills with strong project and task planning
  • Track record in understanding and managing customer/member journeys and life cycles
  • Experienced in working with customer segmentation models, data and insight
  • Experience of designing and delivering both quantitative and qualitative research projects and knowledge of different types of research methodology
  • Strong understanding of the Group proposition, products and processes
  • Experience within a membership driven and/or customer centric organisation
  • Good understanding of the financial services industry and working within a regulated environment
  • Excellent software skills - particularly with PowerPoint, Word, WordPress (or similar) Excel, Visio, Project, DoubleClick, Tag Manager, AdWords, Google Analytics etc.
  • Have a degree and 3+ years relevant experience
