MARKETING OFFICER (FIXED-TERM CONTRACT)

Oxford Summer Courses is looking to recruit a talented and experienced Marketing professional to help lead and further develop our Marketing department on a fixed-term basis. With excellent performance leading to a permanent role.permanent basis.

You’ll be responsible for developing and managing our marketing, engagement and brand/ content/ creative and digital marketing strategy to recruit high quality students. This includes setting strategy and effectively delivering integrated multi-channel marketing campaigns that tie into the Marketing and Admissions departments’ objectives and wider company goals.

About the role

As Marketing Officer, you’ll help drive the growth of the company by developing, optimising and implementing our marketing strategy. You’ll be expanding and improving our output in existing channels as well as working with the company directors to develop new ones. You’ll need a deep knowledge of digital marketing as well as a creative bent and analytical mindset to help us expand our courses.

As we’re growing fast you’ll also be responsible for building a pipeline of prospective students for our new courses. This will require tenacity and creativity to take new products from development stage; identifying target groups to market to and building the courses into successful, revenue contributing business units. 

Main Duties:

STRATEGIC MARKETING:

  • In close consultation with Directors, develop and implement a coherent digital marketing strategy for the company for the coming year and beyond
  • Work with marketing team to Input to and deliver against the agreed digital marketing strategy and KPIs, and engage freelancers and agencies where necessary
  • Develop and allocate digital marketing budget across different channels/resources
  • Agree KPIs and further develop monthly reporting to company Directors
  • Expand marketing capabilities across new channels
  • Implement new tools and processes to drive efficiency, analytic capability and improve ROI
  • Undertake market and competitor research and analysis
  • Develop and define key market segments to target to drive student recruitment for new initiatives

DIGITAL:

  • Expansion of our capabilities across digital platforms
  • Expansion and implementation of conversion tracking and split testing software
  • Strategic management of the company website and digital marketing properties including ensuring relevance, accessibility and accuracy
  • Development, promotion and evaluation of digital and social media resources and strategies to ensure a consistent contribution to brand awareness and student recruitment
  • Develop key brand assets including brochures, banners, flyers and websites
  • Oversee and d Develop and commission content for content marketing and social media, and implement across key channels
  • Development of digital partnerships with third party organisations and publications to place content improve SEO and build online presence

 Practical details

  • Pay: Competitive + bonus for achieving personal and company-wide goals
  • Start: June 2016
  • 3-5 days per week – potential for flexible working
  • Central Oxford location in collaborative workspace above Turl St Kitchen

 Minimum requirements

  • Degree educated
  • 2+ years marketing experience in the development and management of strategic marketing plans and budgets to drive increased revenue and ROI
  • Deep eExperience and expert knowledge of digital marketing, platforms, channels and tools (Google Analytics, PPC, SEO, social, conversion optimisation, marketing automation)
  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities to create value and expand marketing capabilities
  • Proven ability to apply commercial rigor and business acumen to decision-making
  • Analytical mind with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

 Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience working in the international education sector
  • Experience in the development and management of strategic marketing plans and budgets to drive increased revenue and ROI
  • Highly organised and self-motivated
  • Knowledge of Salesforce

Oxford Summer Courses was established in 2010 by a network of Oxford alumni determined to share the magic of the university and the city with the wider world. Although Oxford Summer Courses isn’t part of the university, Oxford is at the heart of everything we do. It shapes what, where and how we teach.

We run a summer school which is set to welcome 1,200 motivated international students aged 10-24 to Oxford in 2017 where they’ll study a wide variety of academic subjects and English language courses.

Our small team of 11 staff is a mixture of Oxford alumni and Oxford locals, who together oversee preparation for the busy summer months when a team of 100 tutors and 75 on-course delivery staff join us to deliver our courses. We’re growing fast, building partnerships in the UK and abroad and we’re seeking a dynamic individual who wants to be part of a successful small company and who can help shape our future growth.

Our goal is to share the exciting academic adventure of Oxford – and other elite universities –  with the world. Alongside our summer courses we run a charity (Universify Education) that offers free access courses to encourage applications to top universities from students from disadvantaged backgrounds alongside international courses that take our Oxford-based model to different countries.
