Job Title: Marketing & Brand Specialist

Location: Ely, Cambridgeshire

Salary: £28,000 to £31,000 per annum (based on experience)

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

The company has been organising diving holidays since 1988 and are one of the main players in this sector. They offer liveaboards and resort-based scuba diving holidays in more than 25 top diving destinations worldwide. Both qualified divers and those embarking into the sport are catered for.

Their small and friendly team offer a professional service that is personalised and attentive. Many guests not only travel with the company year after year, but also recommend them to their friends and family.

The company is committed to providing quality and value and aim to provide the best possible service, ensuring that all their guests maximise the enjoyment of their diving holiday.

They're now looking for a new Marketing Coordinator to join their small team, which is based in Ely, Cambridgeshire. This is varied role which requires the candidate to work independently and use their own initiative. The candidate will work as part of a small team and will get involved with many aspects of the business.

Your main responsibilities are to implement a cost effective marketing strategy / programme for the business in order to support overall company objectives. You will also manage the whole marketing mix for the company, including direct communications and web based activity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • E-mail marketing (content creation / copywriting, list management and distribution).
  • SEO and PPC - Ensuring maximum exposure and optimisation. Involvement with external agency.
  • Social Media management (responsibility for updates of Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter).
  • Website content creation, updates and blog writing using Drupal Content Management System and occasionally basic html when required.
  • Liaise and negotiate with tourist boards and partners regarding promotions.
  • Write creative briefs for external agencies, deal with designers, advertising contacts and other suppliers.
  • Design / artwork production for print (direct marketing and advertising).
  • Copy writing (for direct mail, website, emails and other promotional material) and submission of offers and promotions.
  • Attend Dive Show and manage exhibition requirements (promotional materials, merchandise).
  • PR - (Dealing with all PR elements associated with both the diving press and consumer media).
  • Management of print advertising programme.
  • Management of image library.
  • Involved in product development (research, copy editing).

Key Requirements:

Although the main criteria of the role revolves around your ability and experience within marketing, it would be a distinct advantage in your application if you have worked in the travel industry. It would also be a significant advantage should you have an interest in Scuba Diving, are a qualified diver or have a keen interest to learn to dive.

Qualifications:

  • Good level of Education with good numeracy & literacy skills.
  • CIM qualified (preferable), with previous experience in both on and offline disciplines.
  • Experience in travel marketing preferable.
  • Experience working for smaller companies and an ability to think creatively and resourcefully would be beneficial.
  • Diving experience / qualification very preferable, but not essential, as well as an interest in travel.

Experience/Skills:

  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and possible knowledge of Adobe InDesign.
  • Copywriting / proof reading. A good 'eye' for detail.
  • Website CMS experience.
  • E-mail Marketing (Mailer-Mailer / Campaigner).
  • Print Production.
  • Search Engine Optimisation.
  • Good communication and leadership skills.
  • Able negotiator and good listener.
