The Youth Sport Trust is a national charity passionate about creating a brighter future for all young people through the power of PE and school sport. We have amazing stories to tell and we want you to use your experience of working in a busy communications department to increase awareness and understanding of our work and campaigns.
As Media Officer you will develop and deliver proactive PR projects and press campaigns for our core work as well as support communications activities with corporate sponsors and other partners. You will ensure all social media channels and platforms support media activity as well as manage external agencies to deliver engaging communications campaigns. We will look to you to build links with internal stakeholders, press offices and contacts within national, regional and specialist publications too. You will develop your expertise by creating press releases and briefings, updating social media, arranging interview opportunities and sourcing content. You will also monitor and evaluate effectiveness, share learning and produce regular reporting to inform senior management.
You must have proven PR experience in a press office role with national scope and an eye for a good story. Expert at developing proactive media strategies you will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the media landscape and possess strong contacts with relevant national and specialist journalists. You will also be detail orientated, possess good editorial skills and are great at developing relationships. Excellent at multitasking you will be a strong team player who is able take the initiative and prioritise work- loads when needed.
