Senior Communications Executive - Home/Yorkshire
Package: £30-35k & Excellent Benefits
My client require an external Communications Executive to plan and deliver a sustained programme of PR and corporate communications to raise the profile/awareness of the company, its market position and customer business activities, products and services, performance and achievements. All communications will be delivered to a high and consistent specification in line with Group standards; and serve to drive the comprehensive and consistent understanding and presentation of the company to a variety of external and internal audiences. This is a diverse role with group-wide exposure, which demands first class writing skills and attention to detail, as well as an ability to remain calm under pressure to successfully balance and deliver multiple projects for a variety of customers, at all levels. This role can be home based but will involve working in Leeds office 2-3 days per week.
Oversee management of PR activity to promote and protect company image and reputation, raise awareness of company activities and customer credentials, and position the Group as a market leader, including crisis communications as appropriate.
Work with marketing, executive and business unit management to plan, develop, implement and monitor PR strategies; ensuring good working relationships established with management and sales.
Provide effective PR management, working with the Marketing Team to deliver consistent communications and collateral, ensuring company positioning, capability and achievement is communicated through appropriate media and collateral.
Work with the Marketing, Sales and Operational Teams to ensure that company credentials and references are available.
Identify, recruit and manage appropriate external agency support, including monthly retainer activities and projects.
Deliver consistent, relevant and timely PR, analyst and investor communications through a range of media to increase understanding of the company and its capabilities.
Plan and implement PR and social media campaigns and projects, on behalf of the Marketing Management Team in order to enable greater awareness and understanding of the companies positioning and achievements.
Research, edit and produce content, including press releases not covered in the retainer, articles, company magazines, etc.
Write and schedule social media posts for key campaigns
Produce regular 'Best Practice How To' Guides.
Ensure internal awareness of media activities and coverage, e.g. via Yammer, email, VIC etc.
Maintain a list of company spokespeople and provide communications and training as appropriate.
Source and manage speaking and sponsorship opportunities.
Support relationships with external entities such as government bodies, analysts and consultants.
Plan and implement activities within agreed timescales and budgets.
Evaluate and report on activities to ensure clear visibility of deliverables and status, including monthly activity reports.
Robust budget management.
Support continuous improvement and champion PR and its benefits to colleagues.
Support the Head of Corporate Communications as required in the delivery of internal/corporate communications programmes, e.g. NPS, acquisitions etc.
Deliver a series of internal communications through a range of channels, ensuring ease of access and clarity and consistency of messaging
Maintain best practice internal communications process. Help to manage, monitor and continuously improve internal communications channels to ensure employees across the business are informed of news and have the mechanisms to provide feedback.
Professional marketing/journalism qualification preferable, but not essential.
Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills essential.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills essential.
The ability to communicate clearly and concisely with a wide range of audiences, at all levels.
Good project management, organisational and content creation skills.
An experienced professional, able to act as a spokesperson and to articulate market trends, customer requirements and technology-based propositions.
Self-motivated and directed, able to set and effectively manage priorities and work well under pressure to tight deadlines.
Able to influence and negotiate at all levels.
Excellent customer orientation and appreciation of customer business value.
Good knowledge of digital media and office productivity software.
Open, collaborative and proactive.
A strong team player with a ‘can do’ attitude.
Thorough in approach and excellent attention to detail.
Tenacity in being able to successfully chase information.
Good knowledge of Office software, in particular Word and PowerPoint.
