Storyteller & Analyst

London

12 Months PAYE Contract

My client one of the world's largest internet organisations are now on the lookout for a Trends Storyteller/Analyst. You'll have the opportunity shape and improve the understanding of one of the web's richest creative ecosystems. You'll join the Culture and Trends team which uses video and channel data and trends to connect to millions of people per year via community-focused initiatives or other special projects.

You'll spend your days managing a diverse set of projects and becoming an expert on web video phenomena, sharing what you've learned across the company and externally. You'll work with data to share stories about various videos and channels through partnerships with the press. You'll be a go-to resource for data on what's happening.

Responsibilities:

  • Query, analyse and interpret data around trending content and phenomena
  • Provide written reports and pitches that explain and contextualize popular video trends with minimal direction
  • Write articles based on research, in coordination with global and regional contacts
  • Collaborate on compelling visualizations
  • Identify and communicate data points to tell compelling content stories

Requirements:

  • BA or BS Degree (in lieu of degree, 4 years of relevant work experience)
  • 3-5 years' professional experience working with online content and/or large data sets
  • At least 2 years' experience telling stories related to web content, pop culture, technology or news, preferably as a journalist for a medium to large editorial brand
  • Passion for the web video ecosystem and digital culture

Additional Skills

  • 2+ years' experience with data querying languages (i.e. SQL)
  • 2+ years' experience visualising data (e.g. using tools like Tableau)
