An amazing opportunity has arisen within this top 10 pharmaceutical company for an communications guru. This is an incredibly exciting time to be working at this household name.

They have recently embarked on a broader corporate reputation programme of which the media relations strategy is a key priority but we also manage issues management for the UK business and are therefore looking for a media expert with hands on experience of managing issues for large and complex organisations within a regulated environment.

The issues and media manager would be responsible for supporting the Strategic Communications Team in the UK across issues management. The issues and media relations manager would be working with all business functions to contain and minimise escalation where possible, while providing expert counsel and guidance on breaking and developing risks and opportunities, ensuring this companies reputation is protected and enhanced at all times.

To be considered for the issues and media manager role you will need at least 6 years experience within media relations and issue management. The successful issues and media relations manager would ideally come from either a pharmaceutical or healthcare background although candidates from a heavy regulated background such as financial services would be considered.

The ideal issue and media relations managaer would have experience of developing reputation management strategies and messaging and an In depth understanding of the UK media and policy landscape across pharma/ healthcare/ business, ensuring effective horizon scanning to anticipate both risks and opportunities to the global pharma company in the external landscape.

The issues and media manager would need to have strong writing and communications skills and excellent media handling skills with previous hands on experience of working in a busy press office.
