Travel Product Development Manager - Longhaul
This well-known Tour Operator is looking for a Product Development Manager to join their Senior management team to help build their successful product ranges, drive product development and ensure the commerciality and saleability of the set product range meets given targets.
Travel Product Development Manager - Product Management experience:
*Seek out, propose and delivering new product within region, working closely with
Purchasing Manager to brief new opportunities.
*Assist with guidance of junior team members, providing training and guidance in
developing product skill sets.
*Brief new product to web content team & support maintenance of hotel & destination
descriptions on all company websites within region - including hotel information, pricing,
special offers and key messages.
*Arrange regular training for all key partners, targeted and focussed to drive sales
*Complete regular review of product availability to support demand and promotions with
highly proactive approach.
*Support Head of Product in conception, briefing and delivery of new product ideas.
Travel Product Development Manager - Commercial management experience
*Drive the delivery of agreed regional targets, working with colleagues to achieve company Goals.
*Brief sales on key product offers and opportunities to drive sales on an ongoing basis.
*Maintain competitor analysis on all featured product, acting proactively and reactively in
line with guidance of Head of Product.
*Provide weekly feedback on regional/destination trading prior to weekly trading meetings.
*Provide monthly component stats for given area.
*Analysis of web price output and ensure all prices are constantly up to date, complete
and competitive, and target prices achievable across all markets.
*Ensure focus on best available rates whether through XML links, bed banks or direct
contracts, managing preferred partner promotions and XML opportunities effectively.
*Regular reviews of best air offering across given destinations to support competitive
pricing for the business.
*Pro-actively seek out margin growth opportunities.
*Direct sales teams towards key opportunities to maximise sales and business overrides &
*Monitor performance of tactical activity and provide regular feedback to Head of Product
and Direct Contracting Manager.
*Represent company at Trade Shows and overseas product familiarisation trips.
Product Development Manager - Essential Skills:
*Previous product or commercial experience in a tour operator role essential.
*Proven track record in product management of key regions within portfolio.
*Ability to drive product delivery and engage others in new ideas.
*Excellent communication skills.
*Numerate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
*Excellent understanding and application of English language both oral and written.
*Good product knowledge of Long Haul destinations advantageous.
*Excellent attention to detail.
*Strong interpersonal skills and an outgoing, approachable personality.
*Ability to work in a busy and pressured environment.
*Ability to manage busy workload and prioritise effectively.
*Hardworking and able to learn quickly new procedures and business disciplines.
*Flexible approach to team work as well as self-starter able to work on own.
*Willingness to work flexible hours with occasional evening and weekend shifts and Duty
Phone responsibilities on a rostered basis.
