A strong, creative PR Account Director is required to lead a mix of predominantly b2b accounts in this exciting Newcastle upon Tyne based PR and public affairs agency.
This agency has a great reputation, a strong and high-profile client list and an enviable new business pipeline. With a creative and dynamic team, which regularly pitches and wins against big London agencies for national PR accounts, this role would suit a skilled, creative and dynamic account director who is confident and has ambitions to go further.
This close knit team of 13 are friendly, fun and very good at getting results. They are a can-do bunch who help each other out. The role will involve working on UK and pan-European accounts, in a fast-paced environment to assist clients with the management of their brand reputations. Candidates should be down-to-earth self starters with a creative and out-going personality. Excellent writing and media relations skills combined with previous agency experience in some of the following sectors would be beneficial - science and tech; higher education; environmental; healthcare; and professional services.
The role requires excellent account direction skills as the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all projects are completed to deadline and within budget.
All candidates must have experience of supporting the head of office / department to drive new business efforts and be instrumental in leading PR pitches. Coaching and mentoring a junior team will also be a fundamental part of the role.

- Campaign creation and delivery
- Proven experience in b2b PR environments
- Excellent national media relations experience
- Excellent understanding of online PR
- Good people management skills including being able to manage account teams
- Experience of responding to new business tenders and of preparing, pitching and winning accounts
