Head of E-Commerce
E-Commerce Platform Provider
London

Our client is a digitally led cross-media publisher and platform provider, with a portfolio of leading websites and magazines. They are currently looking to recruit a Head E-Commerce whose main role will be to lead the e-commerce team to deliver significant sales growth for their e-commerce and enterprise business. This will mean developing external business as well as partnering internally to understand the commercial opportunities for e-commerce and deliver these successfully to grow e-commerce brand revenues and profitability.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Setting and delivering the e-commerce product development roadmap through an in-house team of developers
  • Supporting the existing customer base to ensure very high levels of service are consistently maintained,
  • Supporting the business development team to ensure new business objectives are met
  • Supporting the SEM team and customers to ensure market opportunities are maximised


Strategic Focus and Management
Develop and implement the e-commerce strategy, ensuring that it fully exploits commercial opportunities internally and externally
Manage the overall P&L of the ecommerce business to meet sales and profit targets
Ensure that the look and feel of the e-commerce sites reflect their brand values and supports the wider business and brands

Sales Leadership
Proactively identify, locate, and qualify new business leads
Establish, maintain and develop key commercial relationships which lead to closing business
Build commercially successful partnerships within the business
Lead sales forecasting and planning so that sales process is managed from lead identification through to closing

Marketing and Customer Management
Develop and implement the digital marketing plan to balance acquisition and retention to significantly increase new business whilst maximising the value of the existing customer base.
Be the front face of the e-commerce business to ensure that customers experience a high quality experience, supported by appropriate functionality.

Technical Understanding
Understand what the platform needs to deliver and work with Tech to ensure that product developments are built in to the roadmap

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Substantial experience of running ecommerce team
Direct retail experience
Strategically focussed
Track record of building enterprise profitability and revenues
Experience of product development
