Reporting to the Head of Marketing, The role of Product Manager Controls is to be the champion of the product portfolio. The job will require implementation of the three year marketing plan on growing media. This will include development and improvement of the controls range and communications including:
· Implement marketing plans for the controls range ensuring plans are delivered and budget is achieved.
· Recommend and implement plans for developing that portfolio in order to meet consumer and customer needs
· In conjunction with Head of Marketing Implement/Manage PR and Marketing strategy to ensure the controls range obtains maximum exposure within the market place
i. In conjunction with Head of Marketing, construct, develop and implement marketing plan/s for the controls
ii. Establish and deliver annual plan for growing media within the portfolio with clearly defined objectives and strategies, including pricing, positioning, promotion, (above and below the line & in-store), place
iii. Implement and deliver annual communication strategy for the product category, ensuring timely and effective execution for maximum impact.
iv. Monitor key performance criteria against business plan and market plan including market share, price, margin, market trends and opportunities.
v. Recommend and develop cost effective promotional plans for controls, gain support for these programmes and ensure effective implementation and post activity evaluation.
vi. Working within the development team, identify commercially viable new product opportunities and propositions, whilst continually looking to update and improve the existing product range.
vii. Working within the new product development team, coordinate product development primarily consumer research, positioning, packaging design and target audience in order that new developments reach the market place at the right time.
viii. Alongside Head of Marketing, regularly review market conditions, competitor activity which may impact in the success of the product portfolio. Suggest improvements and adjustments to ensure products have the optimum position.
ix. Ensure all product information/specifications; component information is up to date, well understood and correct at time of component order.
x. On a regular basis review forecast vs previous years and market conditions to ensure appropriate information is available for the production team.
xi. Ensure sales and all other departmental managers are fully briefed on controls activities.
