My client is an independent town planning and environmental consultancy specialising in securing planning permissions for large-scale development projects particularly in the renewable energy and waste management sectors.

The Company is presently responsible for planning applications for development whose combined value exceeds £1.5 billion. Recent changes to planning legislation have resulted in stakeholder/public engagement and the management of project communications and the media becoming increasingly more important to securing planning consent. As a result, my client is developing an in-house communications capability and is seeking a suitably experienced Communications Consultant to lead this team, which would be based in the Companys Chester office.

If you are interested in working within a successful and dynamic team, on some of the UKs largest development projects, you will need to:

·Have at least 5 years relevant work experience in a communications role, providing direct communications advice;

·Have experience in the town planning, construction or property sectors;

·Be familiar with current planning and environmental/climate change issues;

·Be capable of preparing/managing the preparation of communications media, including leaflets, exhibitions, press releases, Q & As and web sites;

·Be able to communicate with local politicians, stakeholder groups and the public on sensitive and frequently contentious projects.

·Be educated to degree level and ideally possess your C.I.M qualification

1. The Communications Consultant will:

·Work with the company planning team and their clients on providing a fee earning consultancy service on projects throughout the UK;

·Market the companies communications consultancy capability to existing clients and, with assistance, develop a new client base;

·Provide advice and services relating to the marketing of the company;

·Develop the Communications consultancy into a profitable and sustainable part of the wider team, including growing the consultancy.
