Job Description

Account Manager

The principal purpose of this role is the day to day management of and key contact on client accounts and development of new accounts.

Main Responsibilities

Working with minimal supervision, responsibilities include but not exclusively:

- Involvement in all stages of the creative process
- Close liaison with other teams
- Researching, writing, and gaining approval for the delivery of editorial opportunities and requests, such as press releases, features and interviews
- Commissioning photography, wherever relevant
- Writing proposals and working as part of a pitch team to win new business
- Identify new account opportunities
- Developing a personal portfolio of new business
- Providing strategic input into the management of accounts
- Ensuring the delivery of client projects within timescales and budget
- Supporting the Account Director and Group Head in delivering the business plan
- Attending networking, client and sector related events
- Undertake other tasks such as preparation of client conferences, press briefings and newsletters
- Work to tight deadlines while maintaining expected levels of client service

- Able to work with minimum supervision
- Ability to manage demanding and complex clients
- Results driven with a creative thought process
- Strong research skills
- Good commercial acumen
- Ability to learn about new clients and new markets
- Able to run client meetings
- Self starter, who is keen to take responsibility for their own work and actions
- Ambitious to learn and grow, committed to excellence with a passion for PR
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills
- Strong client facing skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure


Experience/Knowledge

- Previous account management experience in an agency environment
- Project management experience
- Ability to recognise new markets and develop strategies
- A range of pre-established media contacts
