Technical, engineering, industrial joined with creative, innovative, imaginative.  This is the sort of combination we’re hoping to find for this new Account Manager role.  The position is based near Croydon with one of the countries leading marketing communications agencies in the engineering and industrial sector.

 

It’s a challenging role for someone who either has in-house PR experience or comes from a marketing or PR agency.  You’ll need to have experience of working on B2B accounts – ideally in the industrial sector – and will have a portfolio of written work such as press releases, editorials, newsletters, direct mail or brochures to demonstrate your writing skills.

 

Key duties will include:

 

• Developing ideas and actively creating all elements of the marketing communications mix
• Main point of contact for the client
• Liaising with editors and journalists to find editorial opportunities
• Taking briefs from the client and planning the workload
• Planning campaigns, from editorial stories  required and the relevant media through to direct mail content and target audience
• Planning and placing feature articles
• Briefing designers on the client’s requirements
• Planning press conferences and other events
• Liaising with in house and freelance writers
• Writing news and product releases
• Managing account executives
• Managing budgets for the account

You’ll be given plenty of responsibility and really have a chance to shine with this agency.  You will need a degree or equivalent in a relevant subject and be confident in your ability to communicate technical subjects at all levels.
