Our client is a real landmark brand in its area of childrens mail order products. Pitched as a 'lifestyle for children online' the business forms part of one of the European leaders in consumer mail order and a FTSE 250 business.
Our client recruit and retain customers through the distribution of 25m catalogues per year along with 2 stage & PR activity. They are looking for a new person to join the marketing team to manage and develop existing marketing plans and help maximise profitability.
Krey components of the Marketing Manager role will include;
- Delivery of annual communications plan ·
- Ensure development & delivery of an effective existing customer contact strategy ·
- Direct Mail Aquistion & Retention
- Tightly manage production schedules, ensuring all elements (data, print, mailing) are delivered to plan.
- Manage the briefing and delivery of supporting marketing materials (vouchers, sale leaflets, etc), liaising with the Head of Merchandising to ensure correct prices and stock levels ·
- Manage the production of all other offline marketing materials · Select and manage insertion of catalogues in national media.
- Accountability for weekly campaign reforecasts, providing regular updates to other teams (customer service, merchandising), to assist accurate stock and staffing levels
Role Dimensions
Responsible for helping deliver a growing £25m business. Driving an increase in campaign effectiveness within the overall marketing budget. Manage a promotional budget of £2.5m
Responsible for 5m mailed catalogues per year aimed at recruiting and retaining customers.
Responsible for 20m national media inserts, recruiting new customers and driving awareness of the brand Manage the execution of multiple campaigns Manage one direct report (Marketing Executive), recommending and supporting any development needs to drive expertise within the team
Person Specification
Customer Commitment: passion about understanding and delighting the customer.
Marketing related areas Professional marketing qualification (IDM / CIM diploma) desirable but not essential - OR work related experience in a direct marketing function (mail order/retail experience desirable but other backgrounds with relevant experience considered)
Experience of managing multiple 3rd parties Experience in procuring print, mailing & postage services, using industry knowledge to ensure delivery of campaigns in most cost-effective manner
Extensive Knowledge of Database Marketing Techniques & processes and experience of campaign management. In-depth understanding of MS-Office Able to work in a pressurised environment managing multiple projects to time and budget. Experience in man-management
