Job Description
The overall purpose of this position is to meet defined planning figures in terms of market share, turnover and margins through product range planning and in carrying out this process to be directly responsible for various activities and projects, including: - Analysis of market and competitors - Briefing R&D with proposed development - Raising investment requests showing pricing, costs and payback period. - Developing name, positioning and key features and benefits for planned projects - Briefing Marketing and Communication Manager for photography and packaging - Benchmarking new product development and existing products with competitor products - Coordinating new product development up to launch in UK and world markets. - Providing support to Sales and Marketing Teams for exhibitions, conferences, product demonstrations etc. - liaison with manufacturing division on product quality, cost and specification issues.
Candidate Description
The relevant candidate will have excellent market and product knowledge ideally gained in a manufacturing environment. Excellent project management and PC skills are a prerequisite of this role. You will have the aptitude to think strategically and have a practical approach to understanding and solving problems together with having the ability to work as part of a team. Ideally you will have demonstrable experience in a similar role, together with a recognised marketing qualification. The ability to speak European languages for this role would be advantageous but is not essential.
