Job Overview:  
The content manager is responsible for generating content that drives interaction. Identifying the intersection of the companys goals, with the prospects and customers information needs is core to success. The content manager oversees all external marketing content initiatives across print, online and digital formats including blog posts, social media content, whitepapers, case studies, web content, emails, video scripts and fact sheets. The position collaborates with marketing communications, field marketing, product/segment marketing and customer marketing to help define the story. We are looking first and foremost for a writer - someone who will write, edit and produce copy for all content types.  

Responsibilities:

  • Planning: Pinpoint relevant content themes and create compelling content that will resonate with prospects and customers.  Review existing content vs buyer profiles and buyer journey to analyse and fill content gaps. Develop a rolling six month editorial calendar that maps out content development plans, leaving enough flexibility to be proactive on local initiatives. Research locally relevant content with regional teams.

  • Message Creation: Act as regional communications lead working closely with the corporate Marketing Communications team to understand messages in other geographies or segments and assess impact and required actions in EMEA. 

  • External Asset Creation: Write, edit and create assets working with in- region marketing teams for message relevance. Repurpose content as needed. Ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice, and optimised for search and user experience for all channels of content including online, social media, email, video, print (whitepapers, case studies, fact sheets) and in-person. Brief and project manage other internally produced content and outsourced content. 

  • Content Library Management: Maintain an asset database and ensure assets are posted to the marketing portal and to Salesforce CRM content.

  • Agency Management: Manage local and EMEA agency relationships, ensuring that asset localisations are executed flawlessly. Ensure consistent global experience and implement appropriate localization/translation strategies. Manage syndicated content including the vendor negotiations to secure the syndicated content.

  • Budget Management: Manage content creation budget.

  • Content Review: Work with owners of particular content to review, revise and measure particular content and marketing goals. Conduct ongoing usability tests to gauge content effectiveness.


  • Social Media: Support the development of an EMEA Social Media program and champion content across social media channels.


    Interactions
  • Weekly collaboration and communication with regional Field Marketing Managers, Segment Marketing Managers and Client Marketing Manager.
  • Bi-weekly communication with the corporate marketing communications and online/Web Strategy teams.


Experience & Qualification:

  • The candidate should possess excellent written communications skills and European cultural understanding. 

    Other key skills
  • Excellent English language skills and a background of writing across various media/types and styles.
  • Proven experience and a strong understanding of content strategy and development 
  • Web-savvy - Some knowledge of HTML advantageous. Strong presence, experience or opinion on the social web.
  • Operational understanding of the role of content in delivering value through search engine optimisation including an ability to write and edit SEO-optimized content 
  • High level understanding of B2B marketing principles - especially those pertaining to interacting with a target audience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience managing multiple projects across geographies.
  • Organisational skills and ability to juggle / prioritise content in line with company goals
  • Language skills English plus additional European language a plus (French or German)
