About the Role

1. Strategic planning: Provide clear guidance to the event management team in developing, managing and implementing marketing plans (to include event positioning for each show and strategy) which are agreed by the portfolio VP.
2. Campaign management: manage event and magazine marketing to ensure targeted, creative and cost effective campaigns are delivered that achieve results. Challenge existing methods and suggest new innovative ideas that are both tangible and realistic. Manage media partners, trade associations and other market driven relationships.
3. Time management: develop all time and action plans, outlining key tasks and deadlines for each campaign component and communicate to the wider event team.
4. People management: responsibility for the management and development of a 3 Marketing Executives. Marketing Assistant. Conduct regular appraisals and reviews and set clear objectives and deliverables.
5. Cost control: Manage event and magazine marketing budgets to ensure delivery of all aspects of the required plan within budget.
6. Market knowledge: Monitor competitor activity and develop knowledge of individual markets, trade press, industry news etc.
7. Websites: ongoing maintenance and development of show and magazine websites.

What We're Looking For

• Evidence of proven marketing experience within an events environment and specifically within a business to business environment
• Excellent influencing and negotiating skills and interpersonal skills with all levels of staff.
• Pro-active approach, self-motivated; a team player also able to work independently
• High level of computer literacy
• Strong, positive communication skills, both verbal and written
• Excellent organizational skills in addition to attention to detail
• Dynamic and enthusiastic personality
• Able to travel
