Job Description

The Channel Communications Manager will be responsible for managing and delivering a range of marketing activities and campaigns for the branch, direct and broker sales channels to meet business objectives within agreed KPIs and will be the brand owner within the marketing team.

Key Accountabilities

1.        Provide leadership to direct reports, including managing and allocating workload of the team, developing their skill sets and experience appropriate to the business needs
 
2.        Working closely with Product and Customer Insight teams to ensure customer targeting requirements are clearly identified for the briefing process
 
3.        Developing campaign proposals and creative briefs with agreed, clear and robust propositions which meet customer, product and campaign objectives
 
4.        Responsible for briefing and managing activity through creative agencies, internal graphic designer and printers to produce on brief creative work from concepts, to finished artwork and final printed items/ support materials for campaigns, product launches, merchandising and other marketing activities
 
5.        Deliver communications and merchandising which are consistent with brand guidelines
 
6.        Responsible for recommending and developing comprehensive media plans with the media agency to achieve stated business and campaign objectives and which maximize marketing communication efficiency and effectiveness
 
7.        Ensure appropriate communication processes are set up and maintained with Product, Insight, Sales and Operational teams to develop, launch and monitor progress of marketing activity
 
8.        Manage and monitor progress of campaigns and other marketing projects, identifying where intervention is necessary and taking action as appropriate or seeking guidance from management as appropriate
 
9.        Build and maintain and manage day-to-day relationships with approved agencies, suppliers and internal specialist functions, to facilitate achievement of campaign tasks and overall goals
 
10.     Carry out marketing campaigns and activities with efficient and effective use of assigned budget and other resources and ensuring deadlines, cost, print production quality and compliance sign off are met
 
11.     Accountable for managing campaign expenditure against budget, providing regular and ad hoc reports to management with recommendations to maximize use of allocated spend.
 
Measures of  Success
1.        In line with Vantage process, performance and development of team is managed effectively
2.        Delivery of marketing activities/campaigns against defined business objectives and within agreed KPIs
3.        Deliver comprehensive briefs for agencies and suppliers which provide clear direction for activity/campaign development
4.        Deliver appropriate communication of marketing activity to key stakeholders
5.        Effective use of assigned campaign budgets and other resources and deadlines, cost, print production quality and compliance sign off are met

Evaluate campaign effectiveness in a timely manner as part of the Campaign Planning process and provide recommendations based on outcomes

The Person:

3 years experience in marketing communications developing through the line advertising

Commercial awareness with a strong understanding of return on investment and cost per response

Ideally the candidate will have experience of retail marketing and merchandising within financial services 

Experience of managing and developing people

Good understanding of regulatory framework within financial services
 
Relevant marketing qualifications
