Job Description

eCommunications Executive / Online Communications Executive

We are seeking an eCommunications / Online Communications Executive to take on sole responsibility for the day to day operational management of all end to end email marketing activity.  You will need to be strong willed, a good negotiator and able to manage expectations.  The post holder will be responsible for managing the relationship with the email service provider (ESP), the email marketing budget & managing the design, delivery & performance of all email marketing activity.

The role:

  • Assist the Web & eCommunications manager in the ongoing review & development of a long-term e- newsletter & email marketing strategy that supports the broader business objectives with regards to target markets & key segments.
  • Work with other members of the marketing team & wider business with regards to data analysis & performance in view of key segments & target audiences.
  • Identify & drive through tactical initiatives in ensuring that newsletters deliver required metrics where possible.
  • Acting in a consultative manner for the rest of the business wishing to undertake e-marketing & email marketing activity.
  • Work directly with the Marketing Services Manager to build a well planned calendar of tactical e-shots, manage the design & delivery stage & provide feedback & analysis on performance.
  • Managing the relationship with the e-mail marketing agency with regards to scheduled broadcasts & campaign management to ensure that our e-communications are fully optimised.
  • Development of an appropriate eCRM strategy that capitalises on the customer information held by the business & identifies ways in which this can be developed & used to best effect.
  • Ensure that the two-way transfer of data between the ESP & Business Link London data integrity team is appropriately managed & timely.

  • Manage the budget of email marketing activity, ensuring that all strands tie up to deliver economies of scale and cost efficiencies where applicable
  • Work in close collaboration with the marketing team and across the company to build and manage a forward-thinking content plan for monthly newsletter delivery
  • Demonstrate commitment to upholding and representing BLiL's diversity, equal opportunity and inclusion policies/agenda in all business and client dealings

 Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Sound editorial experience gained over several years and excellent eye for editorial detail
  • Well-honed skills in writing creatively about complex subject matter and producing timely pieces of content
  • Proven practical experience in use of Content Management Systems in a web environment
  • Thorough understanding and practical experience of website information architecture, customer-centric design, content writing for the web, e-marketing and search engine optimisation.
  • Awareness of project management principles and ability to deliver to demanding deadlines
  • Experience of dealing with multiple stakeholders and enthusing others to contribute content
  • Delivering to a High Standard to Tight Deadlines
  • Strong organisational and administrative ability. Attention to detail
  • Analysing, Judging and Making Decisions
  • Understanding Technology Trends Relating to eCommunications
