Head of Events opportunity based in Canary Wharf working for one of the leading and largest financial institutions in the world. This events division delivers approximately 250 events per annum and commands a budget of £5m. Events range from a three-day £1m flagship event to high profile dinner and debate sessions. Main duties encompass:
·Managing a team of up to six events professionals ensuring team performance/objectives can be achieved
·Delivering leading edge events with a 'wow' factor that are memorable and educational for clients
·Manage internal client relationships (account management) at CEO level on an ongoing basis
·Developing strategic programmes of event activity and forecasting size and scale of event activity whilst supporting the business in setting an annual event budget
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
To apply for the Head of Events opportunity, you must have the following skills and experience:
·Events team management experience within a large corporate (not necessarily financial) environment
·Ability to create, research and produce a range of events and conferences and demonstrate breadth and depth of experience. Evidence of end to end process is essential
·Generate ideas and developing the event programme using a variety of primary and secondary research methods which includes identifying and recruiting top industry speakers, writing the copy for the programme and running the events on site
·Must have experience of dealing with speakers. Strong communications skills are essential in order to persuade and recruit speakers for events
·Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong business relationships Senior Stakeholders
·Negotiating and logistics (running event on the day) is essential for this position
