Temporary Media and PR Manager
Bristol

Reporting to Head of Communications, Excellent opportunity to work for a special health authority and really make a difference.
Your duties and responsibilities include:
· Managing 24/7 press office service, including crisis media activity and acting as spokesperson
· Managing a range of other public relations activities
· Providing media, PR, communications advice to senior managers
· Contributing to internal communications
· Working closely with other Marketing and Publications managers to ensure co-ordination and maximisation of related activity
· Acting as budget manager for the media and PR team.
You must have:
· Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
· A thorough understanding and experience of handling media relations at both local and national level, including a strong news sense
· Well-developed social and political awareness
· Excellent judgement, accuracy and attention to detail
· Previous experience of working at management level within a high profile Communications function, preferably within the NHS but not essential
· Experience of managing staff
· Knowledge of relevant legislation guiding media and PR practitioners
You must be:
· Highly self-organised, adept at prioritisation and able to cope under pressure
· Able to progress their work and that of people around them amid conflicting demands
· Able to persuade and influence at all levels
· Willing and able to work some unsocial hours
· Able to play a regular part in an on-call rota
· Sympathetic to the aims of the company
