Marketing Manager/Head of Marketing Financial Services Essex - £40K-£45K
This independent mutual Building Society with assets in excess of £800m has established a strong reputation and presence in its area of operation, covering East Anglia and the Thames corridor. With 130 staff over 12 locations, they are committed to significant growth and delivering an exciting future to their stakeholders at a challenging time for the industry. Their marketing aim is to have a quality service recognised positively as differentiated by its customers.
Reporting to the Sales and Marketing Director, the Marketing Manager (Head of Marketing) role provides strategic leadership and operational management in developing products, building brand equity and leveraging lead generation.
Main responsibilities of the role are :
· Assisting the Sales and Marketing Director in developing marketing strategy
· Translating the strategy/vision into an integrated, sustainable marketing plan working across the full marketing mix
· Establishing a direct and measurable link between the marketing plan and value added in lead generation, financial return and brand equity
· Directing the development of customer communication and management and demonstrate incisive customer profiling through targeted and effective acquisition, cross selling and retention
· Taking product conception through to business case and facilitate an effective launch programme across the business
· Instigating policies/practices and programmes to promote effective customer acquisition and retention
· Ensuring effective benchmarking of products against the market and competition
· Undertaking development of the Group online proposition
· Managing 4 direct reports and external agencies
Candidates should have the following skills and experience:
· CIM member or working towards a CIM qualification
· A solid background in marketing planning and product development, ideally in FS with FSA compliance experience or in another B2C environment
· Well developed leadership and people management experience
· Innovative with a strong grasp of financial concepts and bringing a proactive combination of strategic leadership and pragmatic delivery
· Hands on experience of leading a branded retail marketing function
· Experience of taking products through from conception to launch
· Able to demonstrate credibility across Board, Managerial and Operational levels
· Experience of managing 3rd Party relations
You will demonstrate the desire and vision to translate the Society's strategies into a sustainable marketing plan, so being passionate about what you do is key. You will also provide ideas and implement policies and practices to support acquisition of customers, cross selling and retention.
