About the Role
The Product Development Manager is responsible for the strategic and tactical development of organisations range of products. The jobholder will contribute to the planning, co-ordination and management of company-wide
product development projects.
Support the Senior Product Development Manager in implementing the annual Product Development marketing plan and the launch of new products (or enhancements to existing products) which meet the needs of both existing and new customers profitably, within agreed time scales and budgets
Where appropriate, independently project manage product development initiatives
Lead and manage, or represent Product Development, in cross functional project teams
Act as the customer champion when developing product ideas and ensure that existing products continue to meet customer needs, through customer research (where appropriate)
Regularly review the existing product portfolio performance and recommend developments
Work closely with the other Membership Marketing teams to ensure the successful promotion of products across all distribution channels
Develop and communicate a knowledge base of the environment in which these products exist, so that products can be updated and strategic business opportunities identified in respect of such change
What We’re Looking For
Previous business experience which should include some time in a marketing role
Product management and/or financial services experience is desirable
Strong inter-personal skills with a challenging and persuasive manner, to win and maintain the respect of colleagues across the business at all levels
Ability to lead and work within a project team
Good planning and organisational abilities, including good time management skills
Strong communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills
Solid analytical and numerical skills to understand and develop product/customer profitability
