Job Description

We are very happy to introduce a hugely exciting opportunity that has arisen with leading Chartered Accountants and Tax Advisors, Haysmacintyre.

As a result of an increased focus on key markets and sectors, Haysmacintyre would like to appoint a Marketing and Business Development Director who can not only lead the current marketing team, but also drive key changes forward and work in partnership with both the Board and Partners to create, develop and implement the business and marketing plans for the key stakeholders and their business areas.

The key responsibility of the MBDD will be to work with the Board and Head of the Key Markets to define, qualify and prioritise their needs for marketing and business development support and establish measures to review return on investment.

Other core deliverables for the successful individual are as follows:

  • As a member of the Markets leadership team help formulate and drive the Firm's MBD strategy and priorities and ensure that MBD activities are supportive of this.
  • Lead the development of MBD initiatives across the firm to ensure that business priorities and strategic areas of focus are acknowledged and practised company wide.
  • Provide leadership, direction and professional guidance to the wider team to ensure activities are coordinated across the business and synergies gained wherever possible.
  • Budget management including allocation of budgets to support different parts of the business according to market need.
  • Ensure the right experience and skills are available to deliver against the firm's market strategy, allowing flexibility if the business model changes.
  • Establish a best in class function for performance management, covering areas such as performance, opportunities for personal growth, career development, and exposure to new experiences.
  • Effectively manage the MBD team with a clear focus on the potential for team members to progress and develop their promotion prospects.

The successful candidate for this position will be confident, commercial and engaging, they will find it natural to engage with internal stakeholders quickly and build strong relationships that will help both in moving the business forward.

Previous experience from either a legal or accountancy firm would be preferred, but that is not necessarily essential.
