Job Description

My client is a large and well-known financial services business with an enviably strong brand and a wide network of subsidiary businesses. Operating across a number of highly competitive markets they are continually looking for ways in which they can optimise commercial opportunities. They are now looking to recruit a Senior Commercial Strategy Manager to join their East Midlands head office.

The role of the Senior Commercial and Strategy Manager will be to identify opportunities through which the business can generate value. The core metrics of the position are as follows:

  • Generation of value generating commercial initiatives
  • Best practice - development of innovative commercial propositions - taking commercial initiatives from concept to fully worked-up viable propositions
  • Development of proposition strategies (such as Add-on strategy, Retention strategy, Home strategy etc)
  • Overall success factor is the development and implementation of a core pipeline of value generating initiatives which increases the value of P&L and book

The successful candidate will possess an analytical mind and will understand how to use different sources of information to drive value and growth. You will have a broad understanding of business, encompasssing sales channels, proposition and product development, finance and insight, all of which would enable you to recognise the triggers that can unlock value in competitive, well-populated markets.

A variety of different factors will be considered in your work, including customers, products and commercial partners and a creativity of thinking will be imperative in being able to take the business forward. You will have excellent relationship management skills and will know what it takes for a business to offer 'something different'. Ideally, you will have a strong appreciation of the customer journey.
