Role: Commercial Policy Director
Location: Kingswood, UK
Salary: Up to £70,000
Job Summary
The retail savings market in the UK is worth an estimated £1.4trn in assets and over the next five years is expected to undergo an unprecedented level of change. Factors such as the RDR, Nest, Auto-enrolment, EU policy reviews and Government policy will all clearly have an impact, driving dramatic shifts in the underlying economics of our business and how we engage with retail customers.
Whilst L&G currently has a clear strategy for engaging in the market there is a need to ensure that this is constantly reviewed, updated and impacted in light of the evolving threats and challenges to it. Many of which are not yet clearly defined or understood.
Key Responsibilities
You will have responsibility for defining policy for the distribution of our retail market strategy for savings products and services in response to external influencers such as European and UK regulatory change, Government policy, socio-economic change and demographic shifts.
Further, in response to such regulatory and legislative change you will also be responsible for working with various stakeholders and resources across the wider Group of businesses in order to define and execute influencing strategies and lobbying activity on behalf of the Savings division.
You will be expected to consistently demonstrate a clear understanding of the key factors that will, or have the potential to, impact how we participate in the retail savings market place and the likely commercial impacts. You will clearly identify and articulate the risks and opportunities for a variety of stakeholders and be able to investigate and recommend sound strategies to mitigate them. Clearly articulating the need for change and wherever necessary use the acquired knowledge to input and sign-off key strategic proposition developments across the division.
