Key Areas of Responsibility
- Evolve and deliver the marketing & communication plan for the group to maximise sales of the product range. Includes making the best use of marketing spend and PR opportunities
- Monitor enquiries volumes received by the business units to ensure that sales budgets are achieved. (Implement corrective action in conjunction with the Business Development Executives should sales volumes not be adequate).
- Produce copy for external and internal communications, brochures, publicity material, direct mail, e-shots and advertising
- Deliver communications activity to marketplace via direct mail, web, e-shots, etc whilst developing the corporate/brand image and corporate/brand values
- Manage website content
- Own, manage and evolve the development of a client database system, which enables efficient and effective data collection, reporting and communication
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing and communications
- Manage and develop relationships with external marketing suppliers
- Create a strong media profile with insurance industry press and trade / scheme publications
- Conduct market and product research to assist with the business growth strategy. Includes making use of "client counsel" sessions Skills and Knowledge Required
- Professional marketing / communications experience in the insurance sector.
- Public relations qualification and experience of marketing in a B2B organisation.

- Experience of working with a group of diverse businesses as part of a big company
- Experience of implementing marketing and communications strategies to deliver sales targets
- Experience of producing corporate communications (direct mail, editorial, web, e-shots, etc) and publicity materials including negotiation of copy, print, promotional activity
- Experience of using a range of information technology applications, particularly, word, excel, access, spreadsheets, desktop publishing, internet, email and XML
- Experience of conducting research, analysing data and providing relevant reports and recommendations
- Experience of proactive media relations and event management (sponsorship / event / exhibition / corporate hospitality)
- Experience of developing and managing relationships with external suppliers
- Working knowledge of Data Protection Act 1998, Advertising Standards Authority, domain name registration, Weblaw, etc
- Results oriented, strong commitment and persistence in achieving revenue goals. Extensive experience of developing and evolving effective marketing strategies and methodologies to achieve results
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate, enthuse, persuade, negotiate and influence a variety of suppliers and clients in both the written and spoken word
- A creative, original thinker with ability to work under pressure, use own initiative, learn quickly, be adaptable
- Strong organisational skills, including time management, prioritisation, attention to detail
- Excellent copywriting skills
- Ability to relate to and work with people at all levels including colleagues, board members, suppliers, clients and media
- Good level of IT competency
