Market Research Manager (6 Month Contract) Camden c£26.5K

Location: Camden, London
Salary: Pro-rata, circa £26,500

COMPANY:
Diabetes UK is the largest organisation in the UK working for people with diabetes, funding research, campaigning and helping people live with the condition.

They have over 170,000 members and are working for people with diabetes, their carers, family and friends. They represent the interests of people with diabetes by lobbying the government for better standards of care and the best quality of life.

ROLE:
This role is to support the Marketing Manager in carrying out market research across the organisation. This is a temporary position and the contract would last until the end of January 2009.

The role would involve working across a wide variety of research projects, with both internal and external contacts, supporting the Marketing Manager to write reports, develop questionnaires and discussion guides and more generally, to share research insight and analysis throughout Diabetes UK.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) To support the organisation in developing, conducting, evaluating and interpreting market research projects.
b) To offer advice & support to the Marketing team generally.
c) To help increase awareness of Diabetes UK and diabetes, and ensure consistent branding of the organisation.
d) To coordinate and communicate the results and outcomes of market research to the organisation.
e) To help identify, plan and coordinate organisation-wide research projects and results.
f) To ensure that Diabetes UK house style in adhered to and all legal requirements are met.
g) To produce products and material to the highest editorial and design standards.
h) To help deal with general marketing enquiries.
i) To contribute to the development of the Marketing team's strategy.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
a) Proven relevant experience.
b) A good understanding of the 'basics' of market research (such as questionnaire design and experience of using different market research methodologies).
c) Good level of numeracy.
d) Ability to analyse and interpret market research results.
e) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including writing reports and presentations.
f) The ability to work with and influence staff at all levels on an organisation.
g) Ability to work under own initiative and delivering to tight deadlines.
h) Understanding of and commitment to Diabetes UK's equal opportunities policy.

DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
a) Any knowledge of traditional quantitative and qualitative research methods is highly desirable.

Salary Band: £25,000 - £27,000
