Marketing Assistant, Marketing Graduate, London, to £26K

Position: Marketing Assistant
Location: London, closest tube station is Euston
Salary: £22,000 to £26,000 (including London weighting)

You may have experience in the following roles: Marketing Assistant, Marketing Trainee, Marketing Executive Trainee, Marketing Graduate, Graduate Marketing Scheme, Graduate Marketing Assistant, Marketing Administration, Recruitment Marketing, Junior Marketing Executive, Junior Marketing Assistant, Online Marketing Assistant, E-marketing Assistant, etc.

COMPANY:
Our client is the professional association and independent trade union representing the interests of over 140,000 doctors and medical students. They are offering an outstanding opportunity for a graduate (or equivalent) with a keen interest and/or previous experience in marketing to join their team.

ROLE:
To provide assistance to the Head of Marketing & Publications as well as other members of the marketing team on a variety of marketing campaigns and activities. To carry out specific marketing activities as assigned by the Head of Marketing & Publications in accordance with the BMA's marketing strategies. To undertake general administration and office management duties including accounts, stationery, annual leave/sickness records, etc

RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Undertake specific marketing activities and other such projects as assigned.
b) Provide PA and general marketing assistance to the Head of Marketing & Publications and other members of the marketing team on recruitment, retention and general marketing campaigns and activities, as assigned.
c) Support student recruitment activities by attending freshers' fairs and other student recruitment events as necessary.
d) Manage the processing and recording of all departmental invoices and provide accurate management information and financial records against budget.
e) Act as the first point of contact for all members, visitors, suppliers and contractors who come to the department.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
a) Good basic knowledge of the fundamentals of marketing with a view to working towards a recognised professional qualification from the Chartered Institute of Marketing or similar body.
b) Confidence and ability in verbal and written communications.
c) Numerate, with a good understanding of basic financial and accounting procedures.
d) High level of computer literacy (Internet, MS Office, databases, Lotus Notes)
e) Stock control and management skills

DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
a) A basic knowledge of the issues affecting medical education and doctors' careers
b) Basic marketing and selling techniques
